“Each human being has the right to enjoy all rights and freedoms without discrimination, rather it was
related to race, color, language, religion or political opinion.” -for example not for counting- this is a
subject of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. There are more of the constitutional subjects
and many international charts and agreements assigned by Egypt, which reserve the citizen’s right for
freedom and life. The reality is completely different as the security forces keep hiding the freshman
student at faculty of Languages and Interpretationstuden, Alazhar University ‘Abdulrahman Atef
Hussein’ for 41 straight days.
It was mentioned that the student was arbitrary detained by security forces on 11/7/2015 while he was
in front of Metro Almattariya station, east Cairo area, and led him to unknown place neither for his
family nor his lawyer. The student’s family introduced many reports to the Security Head to prove the
incident and to quickly release their son. They also assured that they have done all the legal
proceedings and searched for him in all of police stations and hospitals, but all in vain. That came
while the security forces kept denying the student’s placeplace, which violates the second paragraph
of the International Convention for protecting persons from the enforced disappearance, which states
that “Invocation is not allowed under any circumstances, whether it was related to a case of war,
threatening of a war outbreak, absence of political and inner settlement or any case to justify the
enforced disappearance.”
We Freedom Seekers Monitor, in our turn, repeat our call to the current authorities for stopping such
violations, which is considered as a crime against humanity and to reveal the student’s place. We put
the complete responsibility of his health and safety in the hands of the current Egyptian authorities.
