Despite his deteriorating health after suffering a heart attack in detention three days before his presentation to the public prosecutor, North Assiut court ruled yesterday Monday 03/02/2015 to remain in custody, “Ahmed Mustafa Abdul Rahman” second year student at the University of Assiut – and a member of quality control department , for 15 days pending investigations.
It is noteworthy that the security forces had arrested the student arbitrarily illegal on Wednesday dawn, 02/04/2015, from his home in Manfalot – Assiut Governorate, without official permission from the public prosecutor or court order which requires him into custody, where he was dragged to Manfalot police station, went to a public prosecutor later on charges of joining a terrorist group and demonstrate without a permit in case No. 764 of 2015 in Manfalot administrative .
It also states that On Thursday, 26/02/2015, the student, “Ahmed Mustafa ” had suffered a heart attack in his detention as a result of undergoing an “open heart” surgery shortly before his arrest, later he was evacuated & transferred to Assiut University Hospital until stabilizing his condition, which court did not take into account the public prosecutor later renewed his detention period & rejected the defense request to release the student due to his deteriorating health.
