“Justice is the basis of rule”, written by bold font on top of the stage that sentenced death to the secondary student and other 6 students in the known case, Arab Sharkas, although the proofs provedd false. The 19 years old young man starts his life with a challenge to be finished after the military judgement decided to send him to death, ignoring the statement that they wrote above them. A life haunted by death, continuous violations, first time against a student by military judgement has nothing to do civilians.
Abdul Rahman Sayed Rizk, a 19 years old secondary student, who was arrested illegally and arbitrarily from one of the streets in 6th of October, he was forcibly hidden for a week in security forces campus in Cairo, known as Lazoughly, one of the worst reputed detaining places. Then he was taken to Al Aqrab high security prison then he was referred to a military court due to accusing him of Arab Sharkas and other charges like having weapons, fireworks, and belonging to a terrorist group.
On the 21st of October 2014 the student was given the capital sentence by the military court in the Haixtep with other six accused ones, the student’s defense provided an appeal request that was rejected by the higher military court to leave the student waiting death in the next few days.
That violates all human rights including the Universal declaration for human rights article 10 that states” Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him” Further more, these trials are completely void because they are against basic rights such as freedom of speech and the right to embrace any ideas. Also that sentence is against the human right in life and ends his life due to his political point of view.
Students are the victim of the current regime that uses judgement to suppress his demonstrators. In freedom seekers observatory we condemn such violations and confirm that the military trial against any civilian is a blatant violation to human rights in having a fair trial in front of the civilian judge. Also, we condemn the subsequent death sentences against students with no crime but expressing themselves, as well as we condemn the status that human rights and laws reached in Egypt with the current regime.
