“Fathi Azmi” graduated from the Faculty of Sharia and Law of Al-Azhar University -Tvhna Al_Ashraf branch .Azmi’s family said that he was suffering from severe complications following the intransigence in the treatment of fracture in his hand that injured as a result of torture, as well as suffering from heart attacks as a result of the conditions of bad detention with the intransigence of the “Valley of Natron” prison in the introduction of any medications to him .
. His mother, stated that her son had been held for more than six months in a cell suffers from overcrowding deadly with more than 45 criminal prisoners are cigarette smoking and drug abuse, causing him a heart attack, while the prison administration refused to enter his medicine, according to his mother it is not the first medical intransigence against her son who was injured bone in his hand as a result of being tortured in “Met Slsell” which is notorious and object northeastern province of Dakahlia, in spite of the doctor’s report, which stressed the need to splinted the break, but the prison administration refused to provide any medical care to him, which led to doubled the fracture and the occurrence of erosion and deformation of bones in his hand, causing him to engage in a hunger strike to demand better conditions of detention.
Azmi’s family added that he is being held in a disciplinary cell for nearly two weeks as a result of entering in the strike, and that he was suffering from bad conditions of detention with the continuation of the prison administration refused to enter any medications to him.
The mother of “Fathi” confirmed that she suffers from serious difficulties during the visit to her son as a result of his detention in prison is a march of more than 20 hours from her home which is a health crisis to her because of being infected with the cartilage, and she pointed out that it has more than once to submit a request to be transferred to “Gamasa” prison or “Mansoura” prison but they were rejected by the security authorities. She has also added that the family suffers from large psychological and material difficulties by the arrest of her son being the only breadwinner of the family.
It is worth to be mentioned that “Fathi” had been arrested by the affiliated members of the Egyptian security in the first of December of 2014 from a street in the city, “Talkha” Dakahlia Governorate, and then he was taken to “Talkha” police station where he Subjected to – as reported by his family- Verbal abuse, torture, brutal beating, Surgeonfish, electric shocks to various parts of the body ,suspension by the parties and erosion, so as to force him to confess of certain charges, until it was presented to the public prosecutor on Saturday, January 12, 2015, where he was charged with: attempted murder a lawyer who called ” Salah Awad, “and then his detention continued up until he was referred to the criminal court on Sunday, March 10, 2015 where he was sentenced to prison for 10 years on Tuesday, September 15, 2015.
